Re: 94 Volvo 850T suspension or transmission noise
Did you grease the poly-bushes? If they get dry they will groan. Part of the reason I don't use them. Some like them but I don't as they transfer more vibration than good old rubber. Each to their own preference. If you have changed these items I am now scratching my 2 brain cells to think what els...

Re: 94 Volvo 850T suspension or transmission noise
Could be a wheel bearing starting to go, often shown in early stages when loaded and turning. Also check your sub-frame bushes. Neil. I was positive it was the wheel bearing, but I replaced it to no change in symptoms, I changed out the sub-frame bushing for polys a few months ago, really does impr...

94 Volvo 850T suspension or transmission noise
Hi all, whenever I make right turns (under load) a grinding noise with vibration is felt on the drivers side, if I make the right turn with my foot off the gas no noise or vibration is felt. I replaced the wheel hub and strut tower mount and bearing on the drivers side and it made no difference (bot...

Re: 97` 850 R manual swap, long crank time FIXED!!!
FIXED!!! Drumroll.... It was the crank sensor polarity. Auto flexplate with square trigger holes as the newer flywheels. Install an old flywheel with round trigger holes and you`ll want to reverse sensor polarity. However, it will fire with wrong polarity, crank time is looonger and your timing wil...

Re: 94 850T check engine light while accelerating
As someone stated previously, the flashing occasional CEL is to indicate knock. I think it is to help fine tune (pun intended) using a wideband, data logs, etc. This is used on those custom tunes assuming you used one from the wiki or the massive VS thread. I have the same thing going on with mine....

Re: 94 850T check engine light while accelerating
Well the air filter was quite dirty and filled with derbies even though I cleaned it 2K ago, cleaned that and swapped the TCV and now the check engine light only comes on briefly under WOT. Also the inter-cooler hoses seem very soft with hairline cracks all over them, soft enough to be collapsing un...

Re: 94 850T check engine light while accelerating
Have you changed either the cam or crank sensors in the recent past? If your distributor shaft (the shaft with the rotor arm on it) is worn it can accelerate the wear on the rotor arm causing spark drop off or damage to the distributor cap. Have you checked inside the distributor cap recently to ma...

Re: 94 850T check engine light while accelerating
The knock sensors rarely, rarely, rarely go bad. However the wire to them can be come frayed, so it is definitely worth checking the connections. Since they never go bad I have no experience with or reading about knock sensor codes but yeah, I too would expect a bad one to set a code. Neil's point ...
