Volvo S80 3.2 Right Eng Mounts Replaced 125k

I'm still tackling some of the easy Volvo S80 repairs and have replaced the Upper Right Torque Rod Engine mount and Right Eng Mount. I didn't have a lot of vibration and noise except that dealer told me I needed new wheel bearing and I thought I'd eliminate any other potential noise makers before ta...

Re: 2007 S80 3.2L Creaking from the rear suspension

Decided not to do this myself as the tool to replace in situ had to come from UK and it is possible to screw up. Bit the bullet and had the dealer do this. To do both sides cost me $780 . And BTW dealer said no alignment was needed after doing this repair. He did say that I have a right front bearin...

2007 S80 3.2L Creaking from the rear suspension

My son called and told me that he is experiencing an increasing creaking noise from the left rear suspension area. I did some research and suspected the rear trailing arm bushing on the driver side. Re: 2012 XC70 — New owner, funny sound

Patrick, regarding grinding noise on slow turns; I've had the dust shield on the wheel brush up against the rotor on turns after inadvertently bending the shield during a repair or wheel rotation. Maybe even hitting something in the road could bend it slightly.

I have a 2007 S80 3.2 with 123K and recently the low beam headlight blew. Easy enough, replace bulb and all is good. But then, I noticed a problem! Re: P0101 code after Fuel Filter change

P0101 has nothing to do with fuel filter. No way on Earth fuel filter replacement may trigger any MAF errors. So, there's something going on with the MAF. Well your right. The code wasn't thrown right away after the fuel filter change and I didn't have problems starting after the change. I ran a sh...

Re: P0101 code after Fuel Filter change

You got some air in your line, and that has temporary messed up the trims/fuel pressure enough to code. Air in the line seems quite plausible. Pull the filter and fuel drains out. I just didn't know if that would throw a code. I thought for sure that this common fuel filter change scenario would sh...

Re: P0101 code after Fuel Filter change

Sometimes you can drive these problems away. How many miles have you put on since the filter change? Sure enough, today I drove it for about 15 miles and the code disappeared. Still seems to be running fine. I am gonna go through the engine bay to check MAF connectors and potential air flow issues....

Pulled my 2006 XC70 (158k) in the driveway and with the mild temperatures, 38F, installed a new high pressure windshield washer headlamp pump and new pump gaskets to address a bad reservoir leak. Also, put in new fog lamp bulbs since the bumper was off and put in a new fuel filter since I can't reme...

Re: P0101 code after Fuel Filter change

Wow, thanks for quick reply. Appreciate it. Yes tomorrow I'll take another close look in the engine bay. I did relieve fuel pressure at the shrader valves before changing filter but other than the bumper removal and washer reservoir/pump nothing else. It did throw a P0101 last winter. Just once duri...

P0101 code after Fuel Filter change

Hi all, first post but I've visited many times to troubleshoot. This has me stumped any help is appreciated. 2006 XC70 158K miles: I replaced the fuel filter today with a Mahle KL196 took it for a drive and the check engine light came on. Autozone pulled the code and it was a MAF P0101. The original...
