turned out to be the cam position sensor. lol

anybody hear of a bad ecm or a bad throttle body causing symtoms like this, again no check engine light. would a mechanics code reading be able to read something that I am not seeing?

I have scanned the car probably about 10 times, the only code I pulled was p1618. I deleted the code and now it will not show anymore. anybody familiar with the P1618 code?

all US 1998 volvo's come with Motronic from what I see ...

picture of the old antana ring. cap and rotor look good to me, no oil coming from cam seal. what Do you guys think?

The tittle says 1998 but the manufacture date is late so it does have the antana ring and the key is chipped. Going to check the cap and rotor now. No engine codes. ill keep everybody posted. thanks

thanks for the reply ill check tomorrow and let you know. the cap and rotor are about 1 year, so i didnt even bother checking. but considering the amount of oil leaking from my rear cam seal, this seams like a good lead. thank you Lee. ill let you know what i come up with
