John, if you mean you have a hole in the air intake mainifold in front of the engine....yes that would effect the fuel/air metering and cause rough idle. I am sure others will chime in regarding the symptom. If the hole is in the exhaust down tube before the oxygen sensor that would also effect the ...

As a temporary fix...try covering the splined shaft with some layers of "Tin Foil" and then tighten the wiper arm down over it. The number of layers to get a tight fit will vary depending on how badly the splines are worn. You may have to remove some foil at the end of the shaft to make su...

Re: 1997 850 Growling noise

I'm getting a growling sound on the front R side behind the headlight. It happens when the ignition switch is turned on and the engine is off. It continues when the engine is running? Any ideas what it is? It almost sounds like a bad bearing noise. :?: :?: :?: You hear it with the Ignition ON and t...

No need to remove the fuel rail..... just release fuel pressure using the Schrader valve on the passenger end of the fuel rail and then disconnect the fuel line by loosening its retaining/ expansion nut. Pull the plugs on all injectors. Move the manifold with fuel rail up and out of the way once you...

ANIGAV......as stated its and easy fix. Just did my son's 97 850 PCV system about 4 weeks ago and encoutered the same oil bath under the spark plug cover. Swab out the excess oil in that particular plug cavity the best you can with a rag or absorbent paper towels....before you pull the spark plug. Y...

Headliner sagging on 97 850

The headliner on my son's 97 850 is delaminating from the backing on the passenger side. He drives with the passenger window partially down in the summer and its the air turbulence that seems to have loosened up the cloth and its starting to drupe. Is there a particular spray adhesive ie. 3M that I ...

Flashing arrow and CEL? I don't think anyone has responded to this issue. Just a side note, but check the PnP switch to make sure it's that and not really even the tranny/ tranny fluid. Also check the tranny fluid level- over-fill or under-fill will cause shifting issues. Also, I believe both fluid...

I am sure others will pipe in.....but the fact that a CEL is coming on means there should be some codes stored in the OBDll system that will help you narrow it down. Try getting the codes read at Autozone or borrow a OBDll code reader. It could be any number of things.... sensor issues (particularly...
