Re: Trickle charging non-daily drivers

I'm just curious how long it sits, before it gets driven. Over a week?

Re: 2004 XC70 oil pan condition

My oil pan removal job was for one crooked o-ring too. Mine was on the oil pickup tube.

Re: Slight hesitation upon initial acceleration 2003 V70

If you checked the compression, and that was ok, I'd add two bottles of Chevron Techron and get it thru the system. I've had injectors clear themselves out by adding this stuff. Also, it can take days for this stuff to work. And I added this stuff to my 93 Mercedes to clear the injectors. Its someth...

Re: Planet friendly 2001 XC vs new Electric car

Around where I live are mostly SUV's and pickup trucks with extended cabs. Rather than complain about how blutzie the roads are, they drive big vehicles that smooth out the road. Our 2001 Volvos turn 20 this year and are holding up well. Gas prices around here are going up a little, and it seems loc...

Re: 2004 XC70 oil pan condition

Looks better than mine did. I used Simple Green, a scrub brush and bad language only to get it a little better.. That stuff on the side doesn't go away easy. The final rinse was with a garden hose. I think that small pipe currently in your oil pan comes out and gets new o-rings too. Also check the o...

Re: oil pressure drop

Maybe, pull the oil pressure sensor and tie in a mechanical pressure gauge. It should confirm good or bad.

Re: Overfilled angle gear causing leak?

My 2001 V70t5 stick shift car developed a slight oil leak after I filled up the oil level to the filler plug. Too much oil, not the specified amount. That car got totaled, and after that I got a 2006 S60 2.5T awd, I had the fluid changed in the front and rear differential units. The car needed somet...

Re: Brake Bleeding Tools - CTA Brake Bleeding Wrench / 6 Point Wrenches

I bled the brakes yesterday on my 01 V70. First I suck out the old fluid from the reservoir with an old shampoo bottle with a 1/4" hard plastic hose. Then I refill the reservoir all the way up with Prestone Dot 4. Because I rotated the tires front to back, both side wheels were removed. Then I open ...

Re: Alternator Pulley Fell Off Topic is solved

I also had a clutch pulley grenade on my past 2001 V70. I heard a noise in that area, but somehow I thought the power steering pump was making the noise. I was changing the power steering fluid and no improvement was made. Not too long after that, the clutch pulley gave loose. I also remember that t...

Re: Is timing off??

My former 2001 V70 T5 went about 4 days after a timing belt change before it threw a code. The shop said one of the cams was off one tooth. Ran better after that.
