Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)

Just ordered an evaporator core, receiver, rear springs, and delta links... With my luck, by the time I can get the car on jackstands we'll be in another heatwave...

That driver's seat looks much better than the one in my V70, wish you were closer.
Was thinking the same thing... those seats are [relatively] beautiful!

Re: Moment of silence for my V70, and the importance of OEM

Sorry to hear about your loss benpineapple. Good luck finding another Volvo. At the end of the day, these are just cars... Our lives, and the lives of our passengers and our families, are worth more than any car. Glad you got out safe.

Ray...best plan is to put a bead of JB weld on it and leave it in place. Drain radiator from lower rad hose. These things are just too easy to snap.

Re: One caliper hard to bleed

Hey, welcome to MVS, antwerx1024! There's probably rust and grit inside of it... If some fluid is coming out, that's a good sign: you can probably rebuild it (if you're so inclined) and be good to go. I don't have a bench to do stuff like that so I'd put in a rebuilt caliper. Those are pretty afford...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)

The ETS light is pretty reliable if there is a ETB fault Well that's comforting, because that hasn't come on. I'm thinking the MAF or ETM might just need to be cleaned. The car revs up and down at idle after running a minute. It'll surge down to 500-600 RPM, then rev back up to maybe 1,200. It stil...

Re: 99 V70XC front end noise confusion

Sounds like your ABS is triggering. Does the acceleration of the car act all funny when the noise occurs? That's the only thing that can cause a sound like that. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/images/engine_swap_850/5.jpg Check the integrity of the connector. I might also take it out, clean the s...

Re: Anyone use a dashcam?

Are insurance companies insisting on video footage or real-time photos to determine fault and/or claims? That seems like quite a burden to place on drivers. That being said, I have considered putting in a dash cam. With all the Maseratis and Infinitis here in my part of Queens, you are guaranteed to...
