Re: 2002 s60 accidentally pulled inner cv driveshaft joint apart

Thanks guys Apologies for the delay. Could not get the old driveshaft out of the transfer case/transmission. Action was: pulled back the inner boot, aligned the "three wheeled" knuckle to the housing and gave the other end of the drive shaft a good solid tap with a mallet to reseat it. Reg...

Re: 2002 s60 accidentally pulled inner cv driveshaft joint apart

Hi abscate
I'll have a look at it once I get it out. I might take some photos with the boot removed as well. On further searching it seems a not so uncommon issue when replacing the control arms. I'll report back.
Cheers

2002 s60 accidentally pulled inner cv driveshaft joint apart

Hi All, Was excited to get my parcel from FCP. Took me ages to save the cash, but got there eventually. Lower control arms, end links, mounts etc. Removed the LHS LCA and must have wrestled a bit to hard with the rotor/axle and pulled the bloody inner CV joint/knuckle apart. I can't for the life of ...

Re: 2002 s60 2.4T ac bearing size - confirmation required

Ok, reporting back. I didn't get around to replacing anything and the noise suddenly disappeared. That's either really good or really bad but either way it's gone.

Re: 2005 s60 No heat on drivers side

Likely to be the actuators that control the flaps. The flaps control how much hot/cold air is vented/fanned into the car. Either the actuator/motor is kaput or a linkage may be broken or simply stuck.

Re: 1998 Volvo V70 A modernish Volvo to upgrade to?

I wouldn't write the s60s off. If you can find one with lowish miles that has a trouble free transmission then they're a great car. Comfortable, plenty of power, safe and a decent size. The transmission issues are primarily the valve body issues. If there is no current issue then the first thing to ...

Re: 2004 S60 Timing belt effect on Power Steering question?

The timing belt is separate to the serpentine/accessories belt. If your timing belt is 140k miles old it is well due for replacement. I find my steering is firmer when parking. Not hard just firmer, but this is more to do with the dynamics of a tyre not rotating whilst moving the wheel or moving ver...
