Re: 2006 Volvo XC90 ABS rebuild. Had anti-skid service requ

You might want to look into changing your Haldex Fluid in the AOC. I have had a similar experience, plus used different size tyres and now my Haldex sounds really bad. From much reading it would appear that moisture can get into the Haldex via the breather. This reacts with the oil and you get lumps...

Re: 2008 XC90D5 Much beter fuel consumption with no propsh

Thanks for the responses. The Propshaft is still off. I jacked up one rear wheel and spun it . The noise sounds like it is coming from the Haldex not the diff. There is a slight roughness at one point as the Haldex Propshaft Flange is turned by hand. The back wheels do not turn, so the roughness has...

Re: 2008 XC90D5 Much beter fuel consumption with no propsh

The noise started some time after fitting the new tyres. It started as a slight whine, and slowly over months developed into a wheel bearing going type sound. At the last service I asked the agents to check it out. Wow !! Bad idea. They wanted to replace the diff and propshaft for stupid money. When...

Hi My 2008 D5 AWD ( 178000 km )has a noisy diff/ Haldex and while hunting for a good used replacement I have been driving in 2WD ( Propshaft removed) to avoid further damage. Apart from the fact that all the noise has gone and she is beautifully smooth, the fuel consumption has improved from an aver...

Re: 2007 Volvo XC90 a/c problem

Hi Jason My 2005 XC90, did exactly the same thing. I took it to an aircon guy who recharged the refridgerant. I think it was 134b.(Check your manual for the correct type for your climate and laws) He put a die in it that is visable under UV light so that he could find the leak. I was supposed to tak...

2005 xc90 Error codes from Engine warning light

Hi My 2.5 XC90 started but had no power this morning and gave a message "Engine system service required". I stopped and restarted and she went fine all day,but the message is still there. While googling about it, I found a site that says that to find out what is wrong, I can get an error c...
