Re: Volvo 850 Rally/Off Road Discussion

Hey all! Thanks for the info I appreciate all of it!!! Luckily, I've gathered a ton of money and a lot of free time, and I think I will post a completed result once I finished. My ideas are 2-Rally lights on the front Skid plate, probably iPd or homemade Volvo wind visor sticker Prancing moose logo...

Re: Rally!

I agree. I bought mine last fall with 84k on it. Thankfully, the previous owner did the timing belt and water pump at 70K. I still had to put another two grand in to it to rebuild the front end (wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rod ends, steering rack, both axles) among other various things that ten...

Re: Rally!

I think Volvos lend themselves to unique builds, since they aren't the most popular tuner car and don't necessarily have "rules" for building the "right" one like, say, the JDM guys. Oh, BTW, props to you for your DSM. I had the pleasure/misfortune of owning a '92 Talon TSi AWD. ...

Re: Rally!

Whew! I was really afraid I was gonna be inundated with snarky comments. Thanks so much for keeping it positive! I thought long and hard about doing a BTCC clone, since I have a friend who does vinyl wraps (finding that wing might be a little tricky, though). Ultimately, that might be the route I go...

Rally!

Hi folks, I have a 96 850 na. I know that I'm not going to build any power with it so, I've decided to focus on aesthetics. That being said, I'm kicking around the idea of building a rally poseur for the street. I just want to do something different, and I imagine it'll be the only one like it aroun...

Re: 850 wants to stall when cold

I'm planning on it now that the weather here is trying to behave. Still, the air pump shouldn't make it run poorly, should it?

Re: 850 wants to stall when cold

I thought the trans code sounded fishy.
Would the air pump cause the intermittent problem and correct itself when the car warms up? I haven't done a stage 0 (I know, I know). I just wish I knew if it were an electrical or fuel issue, so I knew where to start.

Re: 850 wants to stall when cold

Codes read are P0422 and P0410.

I can't vouch for the trans code, since I didn't see it with my own eyes and the mechanic tried at first to tell me that it was an OBD I car, even though my OBD II scanner can read it and it clearly says "OBD II" on the cover above the shifter.

850 wants to stall when cold

Hi all, I have a 1996 850 na with a manual trans and 98k miles. Lately, it has been acting strange. When I start the car, it will start and idle fine. I can put it in reverse, no problem, but when I shift to first and drive a few feet, the car will drop from whatever RPM it's at and idle very low, l...

Re: 1996 850 Key Fob Question

Ahhh. Mine's a base. Looks like it can be converted easily? Not that it's hugely important, but it would be nice.
