Re: V70 2004 in serious trouble
The battery is only 2 years old, still good. What is not good is the coolant: the reservoir is empty, so I checked the upper radiator hose - no coolant inside, so I checked the lower radiator hose - no coolant inside. I charged the battery once more fully just for checking; with the full battery I c...

Re: V70 2004 in serious trouble
- Hi pjcat, You didn't mention about checking the oil level. The PCV could have been blowing oil out of the dipstick for sometime and finally emptied the oil pan. If that's the case the engine could be shot. When I purchased my first Volvo for $500 , a 98 S70 T5 it was spewing oil all over the plac...

V70 2004 in serious trouble
My sister drove our Volvo to town when it all over sudden stalled. I had to tow it home. the engine compartment had oil all over and the dipstick was pushed up. I tried to see where the oil would be coming from but couldn't see immediately. So I wanted to turn the engine over, which it did very relu...

Re: V70 2004 won't start
Got the tool and removed the ECM and TCM; cleaned them with MAF cleaner put them back inside and so far no problem. Starts like usual and no erratic behavior on the dash.
Cleared the P0037 error code, but it comes right back.
Thanks for the helpful advises, i hope it will stay like this.

Was there still a humming noise, though? Or was the noise only present when the car was failing to start?
[/quote]
Yes the noise was still there. I am guessing it is normal. I also made a video of it:

Re: V70 2004 won't start
Finally found the time to check on it; here is what happened: The battery is fine. charged it and didn't change anything on the situation. Next I looked at the CEM: took it out which wasn't to difficult and inspected it. It looks very clean with no visible corrosion etc. here a picture: IMG_1728.jpg...

Re: V70 2004 won't start
I recently did the engine swap on '08 S60, and had removed ECU/TCM out to avoid damaging during engine removal. When I put everything back together, I tried seating ECU/TCM by hand, but couldn't get them all the way in. I tried starting the new engine, and over a couple of days it went from startin...

V70 2004 won't start
Our V70 just stopped working. Parked it in the garage and next day it doesn't start no more. First I thought either fuel or spark. So I removed the spark plug cover and hooked up an ignition tester to one of the spark plugs. It acted erratically; sometimes there was some spark sometimes not. So i do...

Will also check once more on this one. Thanks.ferocity02 wrote:My IAC makes a similar noise. Doesn't sound good but it works.
I'm thinking a vacuum leak. Since you just did the PCV job maybe a vacuum line came off.
