while fixing my intake manifold I damaged a hose. It was old and brittle. However, I have no idea what it's supposed to be doing (therefore I can't buy a new one because I don't even know what to look for). It connects to the intake manifold niple and the interior of the hose is lined ...

First of all Merry Christmas everyone!

What matters is that the o-ring seals well and the position of the nozzle in the chamber, i.e. that the o-ring to nozzle distance is approximately the same. Total length is of no consequence as long as the injector and rail will fit in the engine bay (and a few mm is not an issue). Should be fine ...
