Re: 2005 T6 Throwing P0016 After Timing Belt Replacement

Hi Rick, and thanks for your interest! Oh yeah, "gremlins"...the technical term used by IT "specialists" to justify the reboot that fixes everything. I checked voltage and had a healthy 12.4v before firing, and 14.6v when running. Nothing appeared wrong with the battery or...

2005 T6 Throwing P0016 After Timing Belt Replacement

I had a competent independent repair shop replace the timing belt on my '05 XC90 T6, and when I picked it up I noticed idle to be rough. Turned around and returned it to him, at which time he cleared old codes and it seemed to improve. Took it home and by the time I traveled a few miles rough idle r...

Re: 2008 V8 Blowing Passenger Compartment Fuse #11

ISSUE RESOLVED!!! After some methodical troubleshooting I chased the issue down to the TCM, and in particular, a couple of chaffed wires in the harness close to where it plugged into the TCM. The blue/red wire was grounding onto the transmission case. The white is a communications wire. Thanks to e...

Re: 2008 V8 Blowing Passenger Compartment Fuse #11

ggleavitt, don't get me wrong, I'm not disputing that XeMODEx are great, nor did I intend to criticize the service they provide. I have no experience with them and therefore not qualified to comment in that manner. I was simply stating that as an upgraded CEM remanufacturer, I would expect nothing s...

Re: 2008 V8 Blowing Passenger Compartment Fuse #11

So I pulled the CEM, considered the consequences of something going wrong when attempting to open the "Chinese puzzle" of a case, and went for it. Definitely not a task for the impatient, since there are numerous plastic tabs to be released, and since the case consists of three parts, it l...

Re: 2008 V8 Blowing Passenger Compartment Fuse #11

I knew the week was going to be busy, but I really thought I'd have gotten a chance sooner than today. Nonetheless, back on it. ⦁ First I checked the total resistance with key in 'II' position, and it was at 0.8 ohm. ⦁ Went straight to the CEM and disconnected both connectors. Resistance jumped to 3...

Re: 2008 V8 Blowing Passenger Compartment Fuse #11

ggleavitt, what you reiterated is exactly what happens. Thanks everyone for your feedback. It's great having interested, knowledgeable folks like you to lean on! It's difficult for me to spend much time during the week, but hopefully tomorrow night I'll re-run the process and note the resistance at ...

Re: 2008 V8 Blowing Passenger Compartment Fuse #11

Hi Rick, and thanks for your reply. I measured between the top terminal (spade?) of the #11 fuse (bottom is hot) to a ground-point on the drivers rocker area after having pulled the trim surrounding the lower door area. I can get you a ground point number later this evening, but essentially between ...
