Misfire counters, where?

Simple question, Where are the misfire counts for each cylinder in VIDA? I can't seem to find them. Looking in dagnostics vehicle com and fault tracing/ECM areas. 2003XC90 2.5t. Sis is getting misfires consistent with a failing coil pack on her xc90 under hard throttle. But it hasnt tripped the cata...

Re: This summer, used Volvo prices will go...

Other automakers will be running massive sales, perhaps selling at or near cost hoping to get sales going, factories back up, and people back on payroll. I wouldn't be surprised if federal and state governments roll out incentives (temporarily suspend or lower sales taxes on major purchases such as ...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)

Why do people fit those stupid air intakes with no fresh air to feed it? Neil. Because they're neither trained mechanics nor combustion design engineers. And don't understand that cooler fresh air, even if the filter + air ducts are slightly more restrictive, is usually better for performance than ...

Re: Steering wheel moves/jiggles a lot over bumps

Choice of tire can affect this- I also though there way too much road feedback through the steering wheel on my S60. Enough that it could drive me bonkers on a longer drive. When I changed tires from Pirelli P7 (these had a super stiff sidewall) to Michelin T&H this tamed down dramatically to the po...

Re: Low Beam LED - Bulb Failure Message

They've been starting to crack down on LED/HID conversions around me where the the resulting light is too intense/blinding to oncoming traffic. A 40w LED would have a lumen output equivalent to a 200W or more halogen bulb (where the OE is designed for legal/safe light output at around 1/4 of that). ...

Re: P0101 still chasing.

If that's idling in park your throttle plate is too far open. On the 2.5T engine it should be open around 6-8% @hot idle in park. '05 uses the Bosch style throttle bodies. Probably another case of the internal gear mechanism is worn out/shot.

Re: Reduced Engine Performance only in the Winter at Code Start

You can also open the cover of these 2003-up throttle bodies. It's secured with 4 metal clips, just push them off, and you have access inside. As mentioned, the mechanism is really simple and looks robust, not sure what can go wrong with these but worth a close look for any damage to the gears, etc...

Re: Reduced Engine Performance only in the Winter at Code Start

So long as you've already ruled out the coolant temp sensor.. This mirrors, close enough, symptoms I had on my '06 2.5T. I feel confident to key in here. The Bosch electronic throttle bodies are more reliable than the older MM units, yes, but . Occasionally one will have a random issue where the int...

Re: 2006 V70R AWD Auto -- Radio Volume Increasing Spontaneously

One of the known failure points on these radios are internal solder joints and cable connections. Symptoms can include radio station/mode selection buttons being spontaneously activated. Goes without saying it's likely possible that in some cases the volume controls can be affected. If the steering ...

Re: 2007 XC70 does not start in cold temperature (battery is good) Topic is solved

Per mrbrian, it's the starter. The car thermometer said -23C this morning but the house one said -18C. Either way my car wouldn't start at that temperature before. With the new starter it started right up like it did yesterday. No pulsing of the tach etc. Without that background of the EM field I m...
