Re: Buying a used volvo (V70)

I regularly see P2 wagons advertised in CL, Autotrader, Cargurus, ect. typically in the $3500 - $4500 range for an '05 - '07. And as "GlennG2759" mentioned, It will often take $1500, own work, to get it sorted (suspension refresh, engine mounts, timing belt, PCV, fluids, tires, ect.)

Re: Buying a used volvo (V70)

$7000 is an absolutely ridiculous price, $3500 at the most...and you'll still have to refresh a number of components.

Re: Heater Hose

Ok...I rather not replace them, I get on a roll and like to refresh stuff while working in an area or on a system...like the experience of doing/accomplishing a new repair/project.

Re: Heater Hose

Same here, the V70, that my daughter has taken over, will be accumulating a lot of miles with her college commute, I’ll put an FCP order in for the hoses....and I’m assuming the yellow heater hose o-ring kit, too?
Are there any nuances to changing the hoses, removing from the junction box, etc...?

Re: Heater Hose

Makes sense, thanks Lee. Preemptively replacing coolaning hoses, did lower radiator hose and the turbo inlet hose on 2 cars this past weekend, well needed for sure. Is there any rule-of-thumb with heater hoses for replacement?

Re: Water Pump Leaking

Same thing happened to me, so annoying having to back-track. Anyhow, turned out to be a bit of the old gasket material on the block. Emery cloth sounds like a good idea...on the second attempt I used Permatex water pump & thermostat housing silicone rtv on the new gasket (thin coat) and under side o...

Heater Hose

Heater hose part #9186849 & 9186847...is it necessary/critical that the hose length be shaped to fit the space? Was thinking about using straight lengths of silicone hose as replacements, but concerned about the bends.

Re: Big project weekend. Need advice on best sequence

Doing all the mounts is well worth the effort, significant noticeable difference. As mentioned, the rear can be a grind. The top nut has to be loosened/removed and I’m pretty sure I was able to loosen with a clumsy universal swivel joint/15mm socket, but ordered a proper 15mm swivel socket to tighte...
