So far, so good. I cobbled up a quick tool for the threaded ring, and all came apart beautifully. The o-ring looks and feels fine, but I'm taking no chances and getting a new one. A lot of grit around the cup area, I think with a very careful cleaning and reinstall, I might, maybe, be good to go. Ap...

Here's what I'm seeing when I get to the top of the tank. Gas is sitting all the way to the top of this 'ringed' area. Clearly I'll need to drain the tank, but the leak must be around the seam of the ringed area? Between the white area and the tank housing itself?
