Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
When I was searching for the specs on the hitch I came across a few pics of Volvos hauling other vehicles on flatbed dual axle trailers. So it's not unheard of but I wouldn't haul something that big very far or fast. Stopping distance would be hindered greatly and I'm sure the wheel bearings won't b...

Re: 94 850 Trailer Hitch Specs Needed
I am hoping that maybe someone has one that they removed from their vehicle and it's just sitting in a corner of their garage waiting to be measured.
But if you just happen to be at the pick a part and have a measuring tape handy I will be a very happy camper!

Re: 96 850 NA misfires, hard start, stalls
I experienced a similar situation with my 94. It ended up being the plug wires and crankcase breather. The breather needed servicing so oil had been spewing from the oil cap and dipstick. The oil made its way into the plug holes, ultimately causing the plug boots to break down and leak spark. It see...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Today I plan on gathering the supplies and parts to prepare for a trailer hitch build and install. My 94 850 has been a trooper. I paid $300 and got it in terrible condition. I planned to use it as a stepping stone vehicle and replace it with something"better" as soon as I could afford it....

94 850 Trailer Hitch Specs Needed
I am going to build a trailer hitch for my 94 850 to save some cash but before I can start I wanted to see if someone had a hitch that they could get a few measurements off of for me? I have been doing machine maintenance work at a scrap yard and I can get a complete hitch that is practically new bu...

Re: Learned a lesson today, only OEM from now on!
It was a remanufactured part but it wasn't labeled as OEM. When I first got my 850 I ordered a bunch pf after market parts and the axle was one of them. The only thing that was crazy bad was the cap and rotor I got on eBay. I installed it but didn't really notice that the cap wasn't exact. I drove i...

Re: Learned a lesson today, only OEM from now on!
I got my left axle shaft from Detroit Axle. It was exactly the same as my OEM. There was no rebuilding the OEM shaft cause it had been driven for who knows how long by the PO. It was so destroyed that it was on the verge of breaking completely. When I got it I drove it a few times but the horrible n...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Today I was going to install the voltage regulator that I got from U Pull It salvage yard but after removing the cover from the rear of the alternator I noticed that the regulator was a different design from the one I got. I thought maybe it would still work but it has the warning light connection o...
