My XC makes a horrible grinding that sounds like the LF wheel bearing. Wheel off the ground I cannot detect any looseness in the bearing. I almost wonder if the RF wheel bearing is making some noise too. But the left side is LOUD. mhcrra1, You wrote that you thought at first it was the LF wheel bear...

GF did you ever figure this out? Are the wheel bearings the same for front and rear?
