Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Replaced control arms and tie rod ends, was nice having something go back together easier than it was getting apart. Replaced the two ground straps to firewall, fixed (it seems) the flickering dash/headlights at idle. Not commuting to work at the moment, so I might have to just take it for a spin th...

Re: 97 850 dash/headlights flickering only at startup. UPDATED
Tried disconnecting starter to battery cable and replacing with a new, no change. Replaced the two block to firewall ground straps, and the flickering seems to have stopped. Sadly not commuting to work at the moment, so I can’t give it a proper test drive. Maybe I’ll take it for a spin tonight or ea...

Re: 850 Parts... lots of em!
Had just enough of the yellow ones to get it all installed, but was shy 4 to get it completely clipped in. I could use 6, probably, I’ll be removing it all again at some point to freshen up the finish on the rails and drip molding. Let me know how many of the yellows you’ve got. Thanks, brah Check ...

Re: Best modifications made to your P80 Volvo
Still stage 0ing my 97 855R, so not much modified, RIP and Snaab intake pipe, poly upper torque mounts (don’t really mind the extra vibrations at idle). Favorite mod? $8 cassette adapter from Amazon, blasting black flag and minor threat on my commute is just plain fun.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Finally time and weather aligned to swap out my junkyard belt tensioner and new serpentine belt, finished before work this morning. Previous owner had put in the wrong size belt, too big by 12mm, the tensioner removed wasn’t stamped with any manufacturer, just a part number, and was easily moved tig...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Nothing to mine today per se, but scored a nearly new Volvo/Bosch branded alternator, drive belt tensioner, and roof rails, load bars, and drip molding in pretty decent shape, all for about $80 from the junkyard. If it’s not raining on my lunch break tomorrow, I’ll be swapping out the tensioner to ...
