Anyone know where I can find/purchase the upper torque mount press that RobertDIY used/sold for replacing the upper bushing?
or do you know of another one that is sold someplace?

Re: odometer question (accuracy)

well that's a good place to look if and when I take it apart. Our roads suck, the struts were neglected for too long so it's something to look at. While I know everything breaks, odometergear bills their replacement as a permanent fix, which was why I asked. If someone else had their gears fail than...

odometer question (accuracy)

Long ago when I bought my volvo, I had to do the odometer gear repair. It has worked since more or less. I don't believe it is accurate though. I have to keep mileage for a job I do and if I switch between vehicles I notice a mileage discrepancy on the volvo. Sometimes but not always. example someti...

Re: Rust protection improvement

Regardless of brands used you want at least two different products. A thin oil to penetrate well, reach every corner inside the car and stop rust that had already started and then a thicker product to protect from mechanical wear. corossionX-hd has good creep factor, it will do both. It is used in ...

I keep having a bulb come loose in my one tail light assembly socket. I had this happen before and I replaced the whole assembly which worked for a while. Re: Rust protection improvement

I bought corrosionX-hd this year, I used it on my truck and will be applying it to the volvo I hope soon. It's just like fluidfilm a bit thicker and a lot more pricier. I liked everything I read about it. I've only used fluidfilm in the can so I can't really compare the viscosity in bulk form but I ...

Correct non-turbo 850 glt. Boot was fairly easy to get on, little tight on the smaller end but I expected that. Not too difficult to get the larger side on, mostly just dealing with slippery rubber. Re: hardly running 850 glt Topic is solved

Got the new Bosch installed and it's idling right now so far so good. I'll take it for a spin in a bit and update. The one I took out was a bremi,(appears it has a date code of 2014 on it) it lasted for a while so can't complain much. It didn't look dirty but than I just pulled out an old bosch I re...

Re: hardly running 850 glt Topic is solved

Wouldn't those issues cause constant poor running and not intermittent? If it's a bad vacuum, wouldn't it be a constant? Same with ignition parts? My assumption could be wrong but I figured a flaky MAF is the issue, I've experienced this before with a bad MAF. I guess that is why I assume that is th...

Re: hardly running 850 glt Topic is solved

Thanks again for the help on the timing, I believe it is good now, runs like it use to, good power it appears. Couldn't test it out too much because it still isn't 100% I do believe the MAF is going bad. It idled fine for a long time so took it down the road went to turn around and it started acting...

Worst case scenario - I believe the whole housing can be removed from the engine. Obviously this too isn't fun... That's the, I'm taking my ball and going home scenario. All else fails, cover half of the front of the radiator with cardboard until you can get it off - any heat that is more than you ...

It definitely appears my notch is the single one like the first picture Lee pointed out and posted (thank you again for that picture) What a bear to see with these eyes of mine. Also appears I'm about 2 teeth off the marks.. I swear we had those marks lined up but I also am pretty sure we didn't hav...

Yea slow and steady, I took the weekend to do this job with a guy who has done dual cam belts before and still borked it. I feel better knowing I can move the cams to the marks and be good without special tools. Let me ask this though, is it obvious when you turn the the crank by hand if you are sma...

Okay, then you shouldn't have to worry about the cams themselves being out of alignment. Just focus on the timing marks on the sprockets.
read my first post, it came loose and the cams moved

I think I follow what you're saying about putting it in time, Line the crankshaft up and than match the camshaft marks to the correct marking on the timing cover? When we bumped the exhaust cam I did do this, but it obviously is off. But we couldn't see the crankshaft line, I had marked the pully an...

definitely low power, fuel seemed to get sucked up as well but ran and wasn't stalling until 4 days later and 50ish miles later. I don't have the tools to set timing correctly. I was thinking about going to garage for that, now it will need towed if I do. Hard to justify paying a garage but hard to ...

1995 850 GLT poor running, bad Bremi off brand MAF Topic is solved

I am looking for some feedback on my car. long post.. 850 GLT wagon automatic I just did a timing belt kit last week so I'm sort of wondering if it's connected but I don't know for sure. I do know, I need to adjust the timing, the cam lock tool fell off due to not being secured enough. It was a piec...

Re: Brake Booster Vac Line Replacement

I don't know if it's worth starting a new thread but I'm wondering if this could be my issue.
On cold starts I have a hard pedal, where it feels like there is no vacuum helping.
Once it's been running the pedal feels "normal" again. Could I be having this issue here or should I post a new thread?

Re: Backed into in parking lot, fix, leave, sell? S70 T5 Topic is solved

I had my passenger rear door backed into about 3 summers ago going on 4. The quote was 1200 to get it fixed. It was just that door. Insurance company didn't blink an eye when they sent the check. Never said anything about totaling it out and mine is a 95. I would fight the insurance company as well ...

1990 740 possible purchase

Looking for wisdom from the forum here on a possible purchase of a 1990 740 wagon. I currently own a 95 850 GLT. I would end up selling my 850 if I purchase the 740. My 850 has 167k miles on it, the 740 has 182k miles on it. Both vehicles body wise are in good shape. (have not looked at 740 personal...

Re: transmission coolant line issues Topic is solved

No I had it completely backed off, if you try and keep it half on it gets in the way sliding over the connector. So I ended up taking off the connector from the radiator and pressing in the hose that way. As long as it doesn't leak too much I'll deal with it. Hoping I didn't cross thread the connect...

transmission coolant line issues Topic is solved

Hello, I feel pretty dumb asking this but I don't know what else to do. I can not get my bottom trans coolant line to seat all the way back into my radiator. The top one went in without much effort but this bottom one doesn't want to seat for anything for me. First the new green o-rings from ipd did...
