How can something so simple be screwed so bad by the engineers.. Volvo must have hired some VW engineers for this car..
Who the heck takes 2 straps holding a tank up and use 1 anchor point for both straps.
In what world was that a good idea?

I just went and grabbed a napa axle. Already replaced it, I'll hold onto mine to see about finding someone to rebuild it if possible. (seems to ride ok so far)
I haven't cut the boot off yet but at this point it really doesn't matter..

I won't know until I pull the axle on what he did.

Guy across the street uses him so I figured why not, he is a nice guy. He buggered up another vehicle of mine as well..
When he finished my car I took my truck to him for exhaust manifold gasket. He buggered that as well.
So I was done with him ...

My only concern with sourcing a used axle is the unknown.. I could and probably should replace the boot and grease in it,
I'm just not confident that it would be trouble free and possibly be no better than a aftermarket one.
What has been the experience with going that route?

Is the ABS tone ring built into your axle or does it press on or other wise attach to the axle? My 2001 V70 does not have a tone ring on the axle. I guess it is part of the hub.
