turns our to have been a corroded contact from fuse box to ground; problem solved. I would have bet the ranch it was one of the 60 amp fuses on bus bar! oh well.

Great solution post. I have exact issues with 2005 S60 T5, I hope similiar 50 amp fuse panel exists on my vehicle... documentation of panel is nowhere to be found. Thank you for sharing.
