Re: 2002 volvo s60 2.4t PCV still blocked after service/replacement
Yes, they are pretty convenient! I added a little duct tape to the end of the hose that fits into the cap to make the fit just right.

Re: 2002 volvo s60 2.4t PCV still blocked after service/replacement
I used the filler cap. I ported a tube through the filler cap used with the volvo style funnel and cap combo as it conveniently has a hole already in it. I took readings initially from both the filler cap and dip stick tube and they were both the same.

Re: 2002 volvo s60 2.4t PCV still blocked after service/replacement
Pete, sorry for the late reply , I didn't realize there were more responses. Yes, I used part # 31325709 as mentioned above. I used a digital manometer in Kpa mode fitted to oil fill. I took the measurements before and immediately after replacing the banjo bolt.

Re: 2002 volvo s60 2.4t PCV still blocked after service/replacement
Just an update on this for informational purposes - I replaced the banjo bolt under the intake manifold with the udated one that has a check valve and it did lower the crankcase pressure. I was getting readings of -.05 Kpa at idle and up to 1.9 Kpa when under boost driving with the old banjo bolt ...

Re: 2002 volvo s60 2.4t PCV still blocked after service/replacement
Thanks for the info Pete! I laughed when I read your comment about not asking your wife to take on that task at the moment. When I did the glove test I rigged up a mirror and was able to do it myself.

Re: 2002 volvo s60 2.4t PCV still blocked after service/replacement
VTL & a few others have posted about this before - glove testing at varying RPM’s & loads. I know he is a firm believer in replacing the expensive pipe that runs from the top of the breather box/oil trap back to the turbo. I personally have only done 4-5 of the PCV system’s & I've never replaced ...

Re: 2002 volvo s60 2.4t PCV still blocked after service/replacement
Could there be a vacuum leak and have no codes? When you are accelerating maybe a cracked / loose hose or leak somewhere is bringing air into the intake manifold rather than removing it from the crankcase.

Re: 2002 volvo s60 2.4t PCV still blocked after service/replacement
I've never heard of a "PCV Glove Test" under load, only familiar with the glove test on the oil fill at idle. Are you seeing any new oil leaks on the engine?
If you are confident that you replaced the system correctly, I'd carry on as if it's repaired and only monitor for new leaks.
I feel ...

Re: 2002 volvo s60 2.4t PCV still blocked after service/replacement
Scroll down and see the PTC diagram. It shows a large and small vacuum line. I believe the small one was clogged on mine. It's been awhile.

Mine is set up a little differently - there is the larger hose on top but nothing on the back of the PTC itself ...
