Thanks
I thought the cap was the head of a bolt. I got the cap that was stripped off and then I was able to remove the bolt.
Is the cap for tue CVVT hub on a 2000 the same as a 2001?

2000 V70 XC CVVT Hub bolt
Hello, The cam seals are leaking and I need to get to the one behind the CVVT hub BUT the torx on the cap stripped out. 🤔 (add it to the list of lessons from owning this piece of swedish hell) Anyway when I get it out where can I get a new cap? IDP and FCP didn't seem to have one. Is it a dealer or ...

Re: Change passenger axle carrier bearing?
Im going to give it a shot. I think I found a bearing made by SKF that has the same dimensions. Hopefully my buddy can press the old one off without ant issues. If it works I post the P/N I use.

Change passenger axle carrier bearing?
I have a 2000 V70 Cross Country. I am putting in a new angle gear and while I had the passenger side axle out I check the carrier bearing. It's not completely shot yet so there's a lot more play than any bearing should have. Nobody seems to carry this Barry. I assume it is part of the entire unit. C...

Re: Did a bunch of work car ran great til now
My buddy brought over a laptop that was able to diagnose a misfire on #1 cyl. Switched the cop out with the one on #2 cyl and the problem showed up as a misfire on #2 cyl. Found the only new cop in town and after installing it everything is great.

Did a bunch of work car ran great til now
After doing a bunch of things outlined in this thread https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=82491 my car ran great for a few hundred miles. Now it is idling pretty good but under acceleration it it really rough. A basic OBDII showed codes P0300 Misfire, at least one cylind...

Re: Doing a head gasket, front cam seals, timing belt etc.
My wrenches and rings from 6mm to 32mm are basicly all Gedore. Some even double or triple. Inherited from my dad. My Dad bought Gedore in 1979 when he needed some wrenches for a job he just started. He figured they were cheap and when they were broken the company always replaced them with Craftsman...

Re: 2000 v70-xc New "owner" and Forum newbie intro
Both o2 sensors will set you back about $250 from IPDUSA.com. I need some as well after a leaking head gasket. If there is no obvious coolant leak but coolant is being used then start looking up threads on tracking down a head gasket leak. Not a horrible job but it is time consuming. If it were my s...
