There's more wrong than fender and hood there. I'd say inner fender structure, radiator support, headlight bucket area at least.

Re: stripped a screw - badly

Subtract the 28 seconds from the 37 seconds....add half the 9 seconds to the 27, round up.....heat for 32 seconds.

Serious question though.......do we want to just head the metal around the screw, for expansion and to break the bond on the threads?

Re: stripped a screw - badly

Those look good and may work. It also looks like you might have room to get a vice-grip pliers on that head and slowly twist it. Try to squirt some PB Blaster on the threads and let it soak a bit first.

Re: Tool Loaning

I used a short length of galvanized steel pipe that fits around the ball joint boot, plus a screw-on cap to pound on. It worked quite well, you just need to go gradually and keep things straight. The pipe end got pretty beat up, not sure how plastic could hold up to that. I put the ball joint in the...

On your latest three photos, #1 is apparently a horse stable, with very narrow rooms.
#2 has a LOT of character, but is quite crooked, maybe settling badly.
#3 is an elegant house on a nice hill, looks quite large, but may be dark with those tiny windows.

Fascinating stuff. I've seen photos of the tiny dot probes working, mostly in CNC machining settings. The laser measuring seems like the way to get a negative / hollow 3D shape mapped. The measuring head would have to be quite small to maneuver inside the port.

Wow...just wow. I would go crazy. I've been spoiled all these years just reaching for a 15 or a 17. Other than my high school tool box (graduation present to work on my Bronco) I have no other English / Imperial / US tools (does a pipe wrench count?). It's backing away from the surface.

It checks what it's "seeing" with the surface mapping it holds, to decide how to fire the thrusters to get down to an exact spot on the surface. It's mostly boulders, and it needs a smoothish dusty spot.

Re: Glacier National Park 2020

So, the chalets, the subject of our lecture! Built mostly 1910-1913. To give tourists a wilderness experience in the American Alps. Cut Bank Chalet was essentially some log cabins. This was north of the big Glacier Park Lodge and the train station, your first day out. I think you could also motorcar...

Lake McDonald Lodge is on......you guess........on the west side of the park, near the west entrance. It was a private hunting lodge at the Park's founding in 1910, and I believe it was purchased and refurbished as a hotel. It's smaller, very comfortable scale, and has a dock and a launch that just ...

Fun! My parents, for their honeymoon trip in 1940, drove up to the Banff Springs hotel in Alberta. Spectacular place - marble lobbies, just hangs there in the wilderness on the side of this mountain. Another major lodge is the Many Glacier Hotel, on a string of turquoise lakes in the NE portion of the park. Good advice above ^^^ I vote sway bar drop links.

For loose abs, do some crunches and sit-ups. Just start with 10 or 15 a day and see how you feel.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

This weekend I finally got back to reviving the Red Sled, the 850 wagon. No one has driven it for many months. Gave him a good wash. Of course the battery is completely dead - only 3 years old. Read .4V...... point four . Jumped it with Betty the P2, got him warm, smoothed out idle. Charging showed ...

Always amazed at how these fools refuse to slow down. The second snip in abscate's video shows drivers behind a wagging trailer closing in for a better look! Exactly - What's up with people following an unstable trailer so close that they can't avoid hitting it when it finally goes? And what's with...

My limited perspective is that the P2 turbo has a lot of smooth torque that surprises you if you decide to use it. Sort of like a Ford 390! (we had a '66 Country Sedan growing up). With stiffer shocks and ipd sway bars, you can stiffen it up. My impression is that the P3 is quite a bit more complica...

One of my trademark moves on grimy old cars was to go to the car wash with a floor jack, jack it up from the side until it's about to tip over, spray degreaser, wait, and then lay on the concrete and blast the bottom and engine with the high pressure washer. What a wet and greasy mess I was. But my ...

Hey, there's a Laser on that Volvo! I used to do that all the time with our 850 wagon. My rack was the same, the clip hooks into the little holes at the top of the door opening.

Have you all run into the issue of heavy things becoming very expensive to ship these days?

I just sent a starter core back and another small box of unused parts and a padded envelope with a special OEM washer in it and it totaled $80. The core return is only $50.

How is it affecting our FDPP?
