Re: '08 S60 2.5T stutter on start
When it sputters it revs up to a "fast idle" of around 2000 RPM (little more when it's really cold, little less when it's a bit warmer). It seems to happen more often on a "lukewarm" start, where the car doesn't quite make it to operating temp, then gets left for a short time (<1hr) and then restart...

Re: '08 S60 2.5T stutter on start
Alright, here's what I've got so far. It's coming through the Torque app with a bluetooth OBDII reader so I can't vouch for the accuracy, but on cold start from my garage (45-50 deg F) I got 20.7% throttle on fast idle, 16.7% after the revs dropped to 1000, and 13.7% once it was fully settled in. On...

Re: '08 S60 2.5T stutter on start
That's great info. I've got a bluetooth OBDII reader that can show the throttle position. I'll give it a check tomorrow in the morning when the car's in the warm garage then I'll park it outside and do it again.

Re: '08 S60 2.5T stutter on start
Update: The car started fine this morning, but that's normal when it's sitting in the garage. It seems to be sensitive to the cold. I'll try to grab a video today of the issue.

'08 S60 2.5T stutter on start
I've been trying to pin down this gremlin for a while now and it's starting to worry me going into the winter season. I've owned my 08 S60 2.5T for 18 months now and for the first 6 it was perfect, then intermittently it would have a small issue when it was starting. It wouldn't happen predictably a...

Re: 2008 S60 2.5T - Known transmission problems?
Once I measured the level properly it was just fine, but I did a drain and fill anyways. It seemed to help a bit, so I'll drive for a while and do another. It wasn't bad in the first place (don't know if I made it sound like it was) it was just a tiny muffled thump feeling.

Re: 2008 S60 2.5T - Known transmission problems?
Alright, I'll do a drain and fill as soon as I can. Is it better to use the mobil 3309 or the toyota stuff I keep seeing around?

Re: 2008 S60 2.5T - Known transmission problems?
Correct on the fluid but you may need a valvebody. First change out all the fluid I'm sure hoping it's not the valvebody. It's only a slight bump (very slight, you'd have to be paying attention to notice it) when going on or off the throttle in traffic. It feels like the transmission is locking and...

2008 S60 2.5T - Known transmission problems?
I just checked my transmission fluid after owning this car for a little while and I noticed that it's quite high (on the hot mark when car is stone cold) and it's getting a bit burnt (still red but is turning brown). I'm wondering if this might cause the slight issue that I have at lower speeds in t...
