Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I began returning to stage 0 on my 1998 S70 GLT after two years of almost no driving. More vacuum leaks found and fixed since yesterday, new battery, oil change after a few miles warm up and swish and spit with sea foam. Found many problems....

1. P0705 PNP switch code. Running through gears did ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I fixed a massive vacuum leak on my 1998 S70 GLT to stop it from stalling and misfiring.

Compressor Bypass Valve Missing Bolt

While chasing some low/sporadic boost on my 1999 V70 AWD, I decided to inspect the CBV. When I got the heat shields off, I found that one of the 10mm bolts is missing from the CBV. That seems to indicate the source of my erratic boost.

The trouble is, I now cannot find the 10mm bolt online anywhere ...

Re: LED Headlight Conversion (revisited)

I have the ABM projector headlight assembly with some Auxbeam GT Series LEDs for low and Auxbeam FS3 LEDs for high beams. They make great light and do not blind anyone else. HID's will damage the reflector and the lens though it is likely the UV rather than the heat. I do not think HID's get as hot ...

Re: 2000 V70 xc junk yard save

Oil is likely PCV, turbo oil lines, or oil cap gasket.

If you have fuses to spare you could try to see when it pops. By this I mean does it pop as soon as the key is set to run or does the engine actually have to be running? Is it as soon as it starts or only when you give it gas? Does it have to ...

Re: Odd Errors after Cylinder Head R&R | Timing Issues?

Back at it again...

It is possible that I am losing boost, but this error will pop up even if I just let the car idle, so it is unlikely the cause.

I corrected a loose ground today on the back of the cylinder head. It was kind of hiding because the connector was bent a bit down around the top of ...

the glass headlights on the 850ies never fade. the platic tail lights up to 95 fade, afzer 96 they were of better plastic and usually don't fade. no idea what the sun will do to them in soCal or Texas or somewhere else close to the Trump-wall.

If in Texas or AZ, just park close to the Trump ...

Re: Mishimoto universal Radiator Fan for replacing 9497929 (1994-2000)

I would try out the Mishimoto fan. They make some pretty good parts.

Try to preserve as much factory connection for wiring as possible and if you go for a direct spliced connection, do it right and solder and shrink.

Or take abscate's fan.

Re: Odd Errors after Cylinder Head R&R | Timing Issues?

Right, but I'm thinking the cylinders are all firing properly. The compression numbers seem good. The engine runs smooth. I know a misfire when there is one even if it's slight. The engine starts and idles just fine. It is only when I am trying to accelerate that I feel it lacking in power. I know ...
