Re: 95' 850 Turbo 210K+ miles Cabin Filter, is there one needed?

The filter won't work without the retainer - the shape is totally different. By description but not by picture this looks like it has everything you need. Cabin Filter FCP sells the adapter as well. ...Lee Hmm.. how come I didn't find that earlier. I would have just bought that from them. Well I gu...

Re: 95' 850 Turbo 210K+ miles Cabin Filter, is there one needed?

The cabin air filters were not standard on the earlier models which is why there are so many evaporator core failures. The evap gets clogged with tree stuff like pollen and seeds and then the aluminum rots from being damp from all of the condensation. In order to add the filter you must also buy th...

Re: 95' 850 Turbo 210K+ miles Cabin Filter, is there one needed?

Okay...that explains it...so all I'm missing is the retainer then. I hope nothing else is messed up from not having a cabin filter for a prolonged period of time. I bought my car used from the orginal owner and this is the first time I've ever had the chance to manage to replace the cabin filter. No...

95' 850 Turbo 210K+ miles Cabin Filter, is there one needed?

Hi, There may have been posts about the cabin filter for the 1995 850 volvos' but I just unscrewed my 25 torx and fliped up the flap as suggested on the manual that came with the cabin filter I bought and didn't find one. All I found was this odd shaped retainer with part #6802305. It's not rectangu...

Thank you for MIJ, for you time and detailed explaination! :D Very helpful. I usually fill up with '89 gas. I mean you can't blame me... gas is so expensive. The first owner of this car had all records and timely required maintainance performed. He has been pumping with '89 gas, so I figured it woul...

DTC Code PO331 - '95 850 T5 200K plus miles

My OBD II sensor read, "PO331 - Knock Sensor 2 CKT Range/Perf (Bank 2)" What is the knock sensor 2? Is that something serious? And how do I go about reparing it? I can't find any information on it for my 1995 850 T5. Not sure neither if it's because I have more than 200 K miles on my car. ...

I have the same issue in one of mine but a bit weird. Every so often, (maybe once every 2 -3 weeks the system is just dead. No lights blinking just dead. Anyhow when it was in the other day for a very minor thing we pulled the stored codes and it is the resistor above the blower motor. Right now it...

Thanks for the replies fellas. Everything is working fine...nothing else wrong. Just the blinking lights, but not sure if anything will go out anytime soon. :( The a/c blows nice and cold, while the heater blows nice and hot as well. MIJ, how can I check to see what is wrong myself? Not sure what yo...

1998 S70 T5 manual - Heating system lights blinking

Not sure if this is a common problem, but the lights on the switches on the heating system blink for 20 sec. when I start my car. I know it's a malfunction problem, but I don't know if it is major fix. The A/C and heater works fine. Does anybody know what is wrong and/or what needs to be fixed? Coul...
