Re: 1999 T6 - Major leak in Evap. system
My t6 is long gone, but if you smell any gas, check top of the tank under the rear seat. The top of the fuel tank had a small leak. Start there and with the j tube, that was my problem when I had the car.

Re: 2001 S40 timing belt refresh?
Take the plastic covers off the top of the engine with a T25? Torx. Two clips (Front and back) on the timing belt cover will expose the timing belt. If there are any cracks in the timing belt, change it ASAP. It will take another 5 years for you to reach 100,000 miles. I wouldn't trust a rubber belt...

Normal MAP sensor pressure at idle?
What is normal manifold pressure at idle? My 2000 S40 with 184k (160k on the engine) has been misbehaving recently. I'm getting a P0304 Code - cylinder 4 misfire along with the blinking check engine light. This is only happening at low rpms; at full throttle, the misfire goes away and the engine (mo...

Re: Stiff gas pedal
You probably have a dirty throttle body. The throttle body is coated with gunk that is sticking the butterfly valve closed. Once you open the valve slightly by pressing on the gas pedal, the valve unsticks and the valve will move fine. Take it apart and clean the air passage with carb cleaner, don't...

Re: 2000 S40 downshifting
Check the Idle air control valve. I don't know why or if it would cause downshifting, but the high idle could definitely be caused by the IAC valve.

Re: Front axle nut
36mm. Your noise is probably not going to be fixed by adjusting the nut. Might want to check your wheel bearing.

Re: Engine wont idle, have to keep foot on gas to keep it ru
Googling the codes, looks like you need, at the very least an 02 sensor pre-catalytic converter. Possibly a mass air flow sensor (MAF) too. A pcb is a "Printed Circuit Board". The only circuitry on the 2" hose from the air cleaner is the MAF. Looks like something is wrong with your wa...

Re: 02 S40 Rear Camshaft?
Volvo Engine Camshaft Plug - Volvo 1397381 Just did this on my S40 (had a bad VVT gear). I used the screwdriver method as well. I found a ton of sludge behind the cover, and no oil seal. Buying replacement parts, I bought replacement oil seals for both the intake and exhaust cams and re-assembled. T...

Re: Broken Sunroof Glass Question
I had to do this on my S40 when I first got it, this is from memory. It's not hard at all, but you have to be very careful and don't rush it. There are four torx bolts and two very small "C" clips that have to be removed. Pop the sunroof mechanism into the "tipped up" position an...
