I finally got around to checking the voltage and fixing the magnet position. Initially the voltage was at 1.29vdc, which while in the good range was still at the low end. So I centered the magnet to to 1.42vdc and now it seems to be fine. Thanks for the help!

Precopster, thanks for the reply and tips. Hopefully I'll get time to fix this over the next day or two. I'll let you know what I find and how it turns out.
