Re: Engine stop after acceleration

Good to hear you solved the issue. What caused the computer to raise the error was a discrepancy between MAF and MAP...

Re: Engine stop after acceleration

For the location of the MAP sensor see attached image (02 V70 NA). You can check the MAP in VIDA. Look for atmospheric pressure when engine is off and expected changes when throttle changes. sketch-1558252062060.png But it seems likely that you introduced the probIem during repair. I suggest to chec...

The square version was a replacement (improvement?) around 2004/2005.
I'm not convinced it's an improvement. With the circular mount you can replace just the bushing, which is quite a bit cheaper. Tools needed are just a saw and a vice.

Re: P2 seat information, how to ID, what to look for, and comfort opinion

Sagging of the lower pad seems to be a common problem in the early models as Volvo sells an improved version of the pad. On my 2002 V70, the sagging was already quite bad when I bought it at 60k miles. As a result, the seating position is not ideal for the lower part of the back because you sit lowe...

Re: cam solenoid and P0171 Bank 1 Lean

To diagnose the MAF, you can compare measured airflow to reference values in VIDA.
If you don't have VIDA, in principle, the same check can be made by measuring signal voltage with a DMM, but it's not so convenient and someone (on here?) would need to help out with a reference value...

Re: P2111 After O2 Sensor Replacement

Just a thought, but the faulty signal at throttle might be spurious. I have it sometimes and it does not seem to cause trouble. Did you disconnect the battery to trigger new adaptation of A/F mixture? Because, after replacing a faulty sensor with a good one the learned adaptation could be way off, l...

Re: 2001 V70XC - tie rod replacement Topic is solved

I estimate that the inner diameter is about 28mm
(the two parts of the tool don't combine to form perfectly cylindrical cavity, so the diameter can't be measured directly).

Using copper tubing is probably a good idea, too soft to damage the surface, but won't crack like plastic.

Re: 01 V70 reverse light problem

Stick shift? On the manual transmission cars, there's a switch installed on the gearbox which is pushed by a rod inside the trans when the reverse gear is engaged. If the switch fails, you don't get reverse lights, parking assist, or automatic rear wiper when reversing.

Re: 2001 V70XC - tie rod replacement Topic is solved

[...] I recall that, for other models (V40?), the same counterhold is used along with a spacer which compensates the smaller diameter of the rack. Is that the 9997021 spacer on your list? The VIDA instruction says to use spacer PN 9997021. Was there deflection limiter in yours? I'm not sure. I thin...

Re: 2001 V70XC - tie rod replacement Topic is solved

That would be taking it too far IMO! Replacing the tie rod is not a bad job, and apart from the two tools discussed above you don't need anything out of the ordinary to complete it. I considered renewing the pair of them, but here I am, more than one year later, and the other one is still fine and w...
