Re: 1998 V70 throwing P0455 code
There are two hoses on the Evap canister that typically crack and cause this code. First, find your Evap canister! It’s either under the driver fender or in the back on the passenger side Thank you, abscate! I am a mechanic so I have access to alldata, so I'll use that to find the exact location of...

1998 V70 throwing P0455 code
Hey guys! Recently my Volvo threw up the P0455 error code. I've replaced the fuel cap and it still shows up after a code erase. What should I do next to determine the issue? I dont want to dump a bunch of money into it. I am going to replace all of my vacuum lines fairly soon, so that may fix it if ...

12 MM bolt that holds the Intake Manifold to the Bracket
Hi all! I recently replaced my PCV system, and in doing so I didn't tighten the bolt that holds the intake manifold to the bracket on the bottom to the correct torque. What is the size of the bolt so I can get a new one? Also, on a happier note, my terrible idling problems have gone away. I installe...

Re: Failed Glove Test after replacement of PCV system
Edit: I just looked at the link you sent, and hose line 2, vacuum tree to the airbox cover, upper nipple, is not connected to the top of the vacuum tree, that port is actually broken off and covered with duct tape, so I'm going to get a new vacuum tree soon. Since that vacuum line is not even conne...

Re: Failed Glove Test after replacement of PCV system
That's correct. Did you throw away the flame trap disc? Or at least make sure the little holes are well cleaned out. No other good ideas here right now ... maybe there is just a lot of blowby on the rings. How many miles on the engine? My flame trap doesn't even have a disc in it, I got this car us...

Re: 1998 V70 Leaking Transmission Fluid from Oil Cooler Connection to Radiator
How did the cooler line replacement go? I've been getting the same quarter-size fluid stain on our driveway since doing a drain-and-fill, and yesterday located the culprit: Leaking transmission cooler hoses where the rubber meets the metal crimp. It's been getting worse, so I've got another project...

Failed Glove Test after replacement of PCV system
Hi all! I just replaced my PCV system, with the modifications outlined in this forum post. After I did, I felt like doing the glove test, which I failed. I also got the error code P0505, which I assume is for the IAC valve, because when I idle my car sounds like a diesel, so I'm going to clean the v...

Re: Heat blower motor not working
So, before you purchase a new blower motor, you should remove the blower motor from it's spot in the dash, hold its housing and turn it on. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NOTHING AROUND IT or it could be sucked in if the motor works even a little. If not, I would just get a new part, although I do don't know mu...
