Re: Brighter lows?

Premium bulbs are slightly better but don't expect a night and day difference. I was happy with the upgrade on the S80 with halogen I had.

June: Uniroyals are cheap for a reason..

Michelins are almost always good. I've seen some people on here get Nokians which are also good. Good Years European made tyres are nice and well priced but I'm not sure if they're for the European market only. Eagle F1 for example.

Re: warm interior

Speaking about the filters, I too have only one, the thinner charcoal one. I tried replacing it with the thicker charcoal one and the air flow was significantly reduced. I for one recommend too using only the thin charcoal filter. There's a filter airflow compensation setting in Vida that should be...

Re: What Boost/Vacuum Gauge are you running?

I did a stage 1 on my V70 but from Swedish firm BSR, supposedly 250 hp/400-something Nm. The difference is really noticeable in general driving both when going easy and relying on the extra torque and when really slamming it and letting the engine spin to the redline. Not that the 2.5T is too much o...

Re: Switching to synthetic oil...

This might be a dumb question but I thought all these cars ran fully synthetic oil? Or atleast I would never be recomended anything else by a autoparts store in sweden :) We haven't had dino oil around for ages anyhow. But the lowest OK spec is ACEA A1 which is really old so they're not that picky ...

Re: Switching to synthetic oil...

I'll go with the "there won't be an issue"-camp. Any issues could just as well be caused by using a higher detergent dino oil. But such issues are symptoms of an engine that's already shot and will go soon regardless. Perhaps throw in an extra filter change after a few k, then you'll see if there's ...

Re: 1,350 mile drive on 179k 2009 S40

That's not that far. I wouldn't keep a car at all that I couldn't trust to last a trip like that. Milage shouldn't be an issue at all but rather the general condition of the car which you probably know best yourself.

Re: Ford power steering fluid?

My 2004 V70 owners manual clearly states nothing but the CHF fluid may be used. VIDA says the same IIRC. The fluid is too cheap and the power steering to expensive to fix to be worth any experiments.

If it's unclear what's in there I'd buy a litre and change all of it.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)

So I settled on Bridgestone POTENZA S001 as nobody else had anything close to the correct Michelin... I hope I am not going to regret it! Lol. Time will tell! June Did you purchase those for your S80 and are they the run flats? Yes my S80 and I don't know if they are run flat. Does that make a diff...
