First, that's a really old battery. That might be somewhere to start. It could also possibly be a loose ground. When the weight of the car shifts forward it could possibly be pulling a wire somewhere. The symptoms you describe could possibly be related, or it might be a coincidence.

This might be way out in left field but...it is possible it could be the fuel sending unit making the gauge act funny. My c70 was doing this a few months ago. Once the tank got down to around 1/3 of the way full it would sometimes show empty. I would be driving along with the gauge on about 6 gallon...

I am looking at gluing the metal rails back onto the front and rear edges of the sunroof. Is there anyone out there that has done this before and can tell me what the proper bonding material would be for this?
