Re: Sounds like a 1960 vw bug

Went to start the car yesterday morning, but wouldn't fire. Confirned timing... Started to try to get some oil in exhaust manifold by disassembling turbo mounts & as soon as I disconnected the downpipe some fuel came out. "Can't be good right"?

Re: Sounds like a 1960 vw bug

 When it's cold....can you start it up and hold your hand in various places to see where any air is jetting out around the manifold? Did you use new gaskets and hardware? All torqued to spec? I have not tried "feeling for it" too extensively, but will tmrw morning. Yes... All new gaskets & hea...

Sounds like a 1960 vw bug

Hello Volvo Geniuses... (07 xc70 170k) So I did a head job & replaced turbo along with all coil wiring. Went to start it up after re-assembly and it sounds exactly like a 1960 VW bug😩. I have checked and rechecked turbo & exhaust manifold nuts/bolts for tightness (I spoze there could be a bolt missi...

Turbo balancing

Hello all, Once a turbo (td04L-14T) Is taken a part, Is it necessary to have the turbines reassembled EXACTLY like they were before disassembly? As you can probably tell. I didn't mark the turbine orientation before teardown & rebuild.😒. Reason for rebuild was during a cylinder head install , I noti...

Re: Timing procedure write up

Ok all... I am going to attempt this today & see how it goes. The only real question I have in my mind now is how to position cams before lockdown tool gets installed, & timing is set. I spoze the lockdown tool really only fits one way..... Are the part numbers on back of the cams an indicator... L...

Timing procedure write up

Hello,
07 xc70, 2.5L turbo, dual vvt cams... Looking for a timing procedure write-up with instructions that include unknown cam & pulley positions. As of now Pulleys are off cams & crank is not set "on mark".

Thank you,
Nathan
