Re: 2010 v70 pre-purchase questions (issues)

Thx everyone!

Here are some pics (not great but all I could get).

2010 v70 pre-purchase questions (issues)

My wife totaled our ‘08 xc70 so I’m looking for another Volvo. Found a 2010 v70 but there are two issues I’m concerned with 1. The radiator cooling fan pulses on and off when it should be on full (maybe on for 3 seconds then off fork 30 seconds). I drove the car for 10 minutes with AC on then popped...

2008 xc70 coolant leak ID (drivers side of engine)

I’m having trouble determining the part needed or issue I’m having with a coolant leak. It appears to be coming from a fitting on the drivers side of the engine. Here is a video. (I mention that the house looks like it goes into the block or water pump etc. I realize now that’s not the case. https:/...

Cabin blower slow speed only or erratic

Hi all.

I have a new to me ‘08 Xc70 with 120k.

About 3 days ago, the cabin blower fan started blowing really slowly even when in full speed. It basically felt like it was stuck in low. It will intermittently speed up to a higher speed (like 2 minutes out of every hour).

Any ideas?

Re: 2006 V70XC Only warm heat when heater on high.

Did some more investigation tonight. Verified that the thermostat was opening properly.

I agree that it is likely a heater core issue. I’m going to order one and replace.

Re: 2006 V70XC Only warm heat when heater on high.

If the core was partially clogged, then I would think I get some flow through the core but not enough to warm the air sufficiently. There wold still be a delta in temp between the in and out tubes like I am seeing. I may see the same symptoms if there was a bypass (or broken internal passage in the ...

Re: 2006 V70XC Only warm heat when heater on high.

Thx for the replies everyone. I am pretty sure it Is not temp sensor related. I have verified it is clean, it does not look broken, and the system regulates temperature properly when on the colder settings. I do not hear any blend door clicking or clunking. I have observed their motion with the side...

Re: 2006 V70XC Only warm heat when heater on high.

:). It’s been almost a year since I posted about this. Ran out of time to try to fix it so we dealt with it for last winter. Winter is upon us again and I’m trying to resolve this again:) I was about to buy a new heater core then went out and checked the inlet and outlet tube temps at the fire wall....

Re: 2006 xc70 Only warm heat when heater on high.

Agree. I am 90% sure there is not a heater core control valve. Coolant is always flowing through it.

Re: Only warm heat when heater on high.

Any idea how to diagnose a blend door or air door probes without pulling the heater core? I did see the motors, cams and linkages move when I had the pass side panels off. Seemed to be smooth, but I have no idea what the full range of Travel is supposed to be.
