Re: Sub frame bushing inserts?

I definitely would not reuse the bolts. I can't remember what forum it was, but a member posted their "rusted" sub frame bolt.. Yes, it had rust, but the center portion of the bolt was actually stretched to a very noticeable thinner diameter from plastic deformation. This is the same thing you'd see...

Sub frame bushing inserts?

Has anyone done them? I'm interested in the IPD poly kit. https://www.ipdusa.com/products/8969/120168-ipd-poly-subframe-bushing-insert-kit My main concern is the sub frame bolts breaking during removal. This looks like it would be rather detrimental as I doubt there's no way to remove the bolts with...

Re: 2008 S60 2.5T Fwd Turbo Removal

This post makes me wonder if I should hoard a spare turbo just in case. How'd you like that skinny ratchet anyways? I actually bought one for the S60's control arms since space is so limited, but I needed leverage. Thankfully on the most stubborn bolt I was able to use a 3/8 breaker bar after raisi...

Re: 2008 3.2 FWD engine mounts procedure - advice requested

Not sure on the difference between these and the P2 S60 since there's a different engine, but all I needed was a long 3/8" extension and a wobble socket for the front lower mount's top nut and rear lower mounts bottom bolt. I believe they are 14 and 15mm. The rear mount was a bit tricky.. In FCP Eur...

Re: Air filter part numbers?

OK thanks. I'm still having trouble here. The cabin filter I took out of this car is exactly 1.25 inches thick, not 1.0 or 1.5. IPD also states that the thinner of the two should be the forward slot, but what I see is the reverse. Are you by chance just measuring the paper thus getting the 1.25 whe...

You should make a you tube video with your head down there. LOL
What's you opinion on disconnecting the battery?
I'll give it another look.
Thanks
It'd be glorious for sure.

The battery should be disconnected whenever electronic anything is being messed with.

Re: Rearmost exhaust hanger rusted off

The shop that did my XC90 used some rebar - bent it like CN90's pictures and welded it to the exhaust. Basically all you are doing is bending that shape - dry fit so it fits into the hangers, while supporting the muffler, and then welding it to where the old piece was welded. Once done insert into ...
