Re: 2013A XC90 - 150,000 Miles To-Do List

Xheart, That looks super clean. Note: for my LR2 I didn't rebuild the o-rings in the Vacuum pump because it was very clean. . . . IMG_5449.JPG . . . However for my S80, I had no choice . . . Re: 2013A XC90 - 150,000 Miles To-Do List

Paul - did you remove the 3.6L while the engine was off and cold?? Thanks. Engine off - yes (don't run the engine with the transmission attached and no fluid in the sump, or at least don't do it for very long) To get out that much fluid I lifted the vehicle from the right side and then I lowered it...

Re: 2010 XC70 A/C Receiver Drier Location

When I replaced the Compressor on my 2010 S80 I also replaced the desiccant bag because I read that a clogged desiccant bag can negatively affect performance of the AC system. And I read about flushing the system but I decided not to. But I did carefully follow the instructions on the compressor to ...

Re: 2013A XC90 - 150,000 Miles To-Do List

xHeart, Based on your description it appears that your transmission was under filled. The level of fluid in the sump is measured with the engine at idle. If you remove the Torx 40 with the engine off then you will remove another half a quart of fluid and the fluid level will be too low. Here is how ...

Re: 2010 XC70 A/C Receiver Drier Location

For my 2010 S80 3.2 the dryer is a desiccant bag inside the condenser. It comes in a sealed aluminium Mylar bag and it only has a 1 year shelf life. Don't open the Mylar Bag until you are ready to install the desiccant in the condenser. The cap that holds the bag in place uses a Torx T-70 fastener. ...

Re: Burnt ignition coil Topic is solved

Let us know if you have any further Ignition coil problems I am glad to hear that you got it sorted out. And I am not surprised that your Thermostat had failed. For my 2008 LR2 (with the Volvo 3.2 6 cylinder) my Thermostat cam out in one piece but it failed about 5 minutes after removal For my 2010 ...

Re: Looking to move from P2 to P3

Moussey, I own two P3 vehicles 2008 Land Rover LR2 3.2 (owned since new) 2010 Volvo S80 3.2 (Purchased last November for my son to drive) And I've been very happy with both of them. I do like the V70 and XC70 but my wife preferred the look of the LR2 and my son preferred a sedan so we got a S80. I p...

Re: Looking to move from P2 to P3

I want a T6 2012 has the newer dash with the nicer gauge package I drive at night nearly exclusively and usually 3 hours at a shot. I want the HID headlights. Were they standard in any of the packages or am I best just checking out every T6 that I come across? It looks like the Xenon HID lights are...

Re: Burnt ignition coil Topic is solved

That is great news!!!! Note: for the S80 removing the Thermostat is not trivial (it may be easier on the 3.0 Turbo vs 3.2 but its not trivial) Here is a picture of my Thermostat for my 2010 S80 after I removed it Failed_thermostat.jpg One last thought. The ignition coil failed for a reason - Possibl...

Re: Burnt ignition coil Topic is solved

Jimmy, The problem that you are encountering is due to advancements in mechanical CAD. The problem with CAD is that is you zoom in enough it always looks like there is enough room. . . . . . . Having said that your theory about Infidelity may also have some merit I'll have to think about it. I am on...
