Re: No high beams -- 98 V70 Manual

Could the headlight problem not be the infamous light switch issue? I remember I lost high beams when that happened to me, although it may have just been failing to latch and still coming on as long as the lever was pulled back, don't remember 100%.

Re: Help with radio code SC-901

To follow up on this: Volvo USA was able to get me the code. Although the tool on the website did not work and gave an error, probably due to the VIN being from a Euro car, after I contacted customer care with the above images they got back to me with the code in under 6 hours on a Sunday. Amazing! ...

Help with radio code SC-901

Hi, I recently pulled a sc-901 from a v70 at the local junkyard. Looked through the car but could not find the radio code anywhere. Decided to take it anyway and wrote down the VIN. My issue is that the dealers here in the motherland charges (a substantial amount) for the code. Is anyone here able t...

Re: Volvo S70 mystery wobble/vibration/rattle

I had a very similar thing a few years back. Turned out to be rear brakes so could definitely be the caliper. For me it was the pads getting stuck on the sliders and caliper walls and not releasing properly. Warped the rotors as well. Make sure you invest in a fit for purpose lube for the pins and t...

Re: OEM front suspension components

On my s70 the you replace the entire control arm if the ball joint is bad, its likely similar for you. I believe early 850s had a replaceable ball joint but for any later models you'll have to replace the entire arm.

Re: Seat upholstery compatibility S/V70

I'd imagine that the bottom of the rear seat of V and S could be interchangeable After having a look at a V70 I can safely say that no part of the rear seat is interchangeable. The V70 seat bottom is split and also mounts differently with a hinge such that it can be folded forward to make room for ...

Seat upholstery compatibility S/V70

Hello, I'm going to attempt a leather seat conversion on my 98 S70. Before I take a trip to the junkyard next week I'm trying to figure out between which years and options the seat upholstery or entire seats will be compatible. Due to the SIPS bag differences I'm pretty certain the 99 and 00 front s...

D5252T cylinder-head tourqe sequence

Hi,

Does anyone know the cylinder-head tourqe sequence for the D5252T? Haynes workshop manual does not cover the diesel engine. Maybe its in VIDA but I do not have it working yet. Car is a 1998 S70 TDI.

Thanks,
Olle

Re: 1998 s70 TDI sudden loss of power

Probably you're on the right way. Does it have any kind of extensive smoking? Usually dying turbo produces oil-ish smoke. No, nothing like that thankfully. Turned out to be a much simpler issue. Intercooler piping? The T5s get slow once that happens. So will all TDIs This was it, the hoseclamp on t...
