Here is an update - I just cleaned contacts in ECM/TCM (noticed the ECM purple plastic holding tabs have almost 'rounded' where the ECU removal tool inserts - so suspect it was removed multiple times before mytime).

Upon reconnection battery, turned key to position II - still had engine light ...
