OK Following up here, when I put gauges on there was some but not much pressure in the system.
Started up, added one can of R134a and system started cycling - AND - the fan switched off of high down to lower speed.
Cycling and cooling fine now, fan seams normal.

Well Vida would suggest I need to change the defrost actuator.
Step one in vida "REMOVE THE DASH"..................
I may try operating/communicating with Vida some more - who needs defrost now that summer is coming!

This car is 'new' to me so I do not know if this HU-850 is original or a replacment - it operates fine but the button/controls illumination is not present.

I've seen similar symptoms but not a clear solution:
06 V70R - just been through Timing Belt, PCV, struts, radiator.......
If it is a few degrees below freezing - cold start is fine - but once the engine tries to slow and idle down (after about 1 min) it almost stalls, recovers, and almost stalls ...

I am a 'new' owner of a 2008 C70 with the base stereo - which does not seem to have any phone option.

Can anyone suggest some suitable options to address this?

PROGRESS and a few tips - YES this is do-able lessons learned:
There is wiring duct which has one 8mm head bolt securing the plastic wire duct it to the subframe with this removed you can push the wire hareness/duct around just enough more to get the Rad out lowering Passenger side 1st.

I gave mine to my mechanic, to change the bushings with a press - they are/were 12 yrs old, and he said they were a TOTAL bear to press out took a lot of force.
