Re: XC90 2.5t dead #3 cylinder

- Could you post the PN for the "Updated Banjo Bolt"? - Where is this bolt located in the 2.5T engine? - Can I remove the Banjo Bolt and modify it (i.e. gutting it of the internal parts), then re-install the Banjo Bolt? The Banjo Bolt in the Photo is the newer version that so far has no f...

Re: XC90 2.5t dead #3 cylinder

Now I have the photos to show the issues I had. My wife's car was killed by the Banjo Bolt BB and parts. I swapped out the potentially engine killing Bolt from my car and made sure the Bolt was updated in the replacement engine for her car.

Re: P10108 Code and then misfiring

I found an engine with 90,000 miles and swapped it in, I also found the culprit responsible for killing my engine. The BB and the crosspin came out of the banjo bolt and beat a piston to death.

Re: P10108 Code and then misfiring

Turns out is was the BB from the check valve in the Banjo bolt underneath the intake manifold that got sucked into the cylinder. The top of the piston looked like it was hammered on with a teeny ballpeen hammer. It was a private sale I am not sure I have any recourse. I did think it made noises my o...

Re: XC90 2.5t dead #3 cylinder

I have the same xc90 and the same thing happened, the top of the #2 piston looks the same as yours. It was a BB/check valve from the banjo bolt on the underside of the intake manifold. Seems like some years had this type of check valve and others just had a small hole. The top of my #2 piston cracked.

Re: P10108 Code and then misfiring

Well I installed and known good MAF and it is still missing. I pulled all the plugs again and the gap was bent over, I put in a fiber camera and the top of Piston #2 was cracked. Just for giggles I installed new plugs in all 5 cylinders and started it up. It seemed to run fine, I ran the car for abo...

P10108 Code and then misfiring

My 2006 XC90 2.5T threw a P10108 Code yesterday and started to run really rough. I cleared the code and it then threw a bunch of cylinder misfiring codes Cylinders 2 through 5 and ran even rougher. Cylinder one was the only one not sending a misfire code. The P10108 code is "Manifold Air Pressu...
