Re: No power after braking
Problem solved! I replaced all the vacuum hoses and fittings (some quite brittle). Problem persisted. I vacuum tested the MAP sensor -ok. Heat tested the Intake Air Temperature sensor - ok. I went back to the fuel system again (had already replaced the filter and checked pressure at the rail. Began ...

Re: No power after braking
Yes, the IAT fits through a hole in the top of the snorkel. I’ll test out the IAT and the MAP sensor tomorrow, (found some methods to test them out). I feel dumb that I didn’t realize it was a 10 valve, before trying to diagnose the difficulties it’s been having. Thanks again

Re: No power after braking
I’ve had, previous to this car, 3 - 850’s all with a MAF sensor attached to the air intake hose. This one has an AIT sensor in that hose. I believe the MAP is below the radiator cowling attached to the intake manifold by a thin vac line. The valve cover has DOHC on it (I’ve wrongly assumed that the ...

Re: No power after braking
Thanks again to all those who have responded. I pinched the brake vacuum hose in two places, just to insure that it was pinched completely shut. The pedal braking force needed assured me it was inactive. Went around the block (with assist of the parking brake). Had to pull over and restart the car f...

No power after braking
I have a 1996 GLE 2.4L with abs and tracs. It has 162,000 km. Since it’s a ‘96 it doesn’t have the self diag. trouble code unit. I bought an Autel MaxiDiag Elite. The meter will read brake codes and SRS codes but not engine codes. I made an LED probe unit to probe the OBD II socket (below the coin h...
