Re: Driver door handle in weird position
Very common on these cars. The door lock mechanism looses all the lube and sticks. When the door is locked, the rod connected to the door handle is free, attached only to a spring. When the door is unlocked, the rod is connected to all moving parts that releases the door. They get dry and rusty and ...

Re: Evaporator Pressure Testing
The drain is just for the moisture to drain out as the evap gets cold and removes humidity (condensation on cold metal) , there is nothing to test there, its just a tube to throw water out of the car. I used sniffers before from Amazon and they were never reliable. Going off for no reason. If you dy...

Re: Evaporator Pressure Testing
Sure, why not. I assume you want to find a leak and make sure its the evap before tearing down the dash. The green dye finds leaks easily in the front but not in the dash.

Re: External head gasket coolant leak
Eliminate the 22psi pressure. I run all my cars without pressure by drilling tiny hole in the cap or ripping the gasket out. Never had engine overheat or overboil even in 100 degrees days sitting on black highway or climbing maintains. 22 psi is what kills most old Volvo with junk yards full of head...

Re: 1998 S90 alternator output
There should be a rod, looking like an EYE bolt that holds the battery down with metal plate. Most rust away and break off. I drilled some holes and use metal strap to hold mine in place under and over. The metal under my battery was all rusted out. Had to do some sheet metal work.

Re: S70 Strange AC/Heat Unit
3524842 is it. Thanks ABSCATE.
Why they sell those else where and on ebay for $400. I tried locating this part yesterday for 20 minutes on volvopartswebstore.com but the web site is not intuitive. Hard to find proper parts. Thank you for the help.

Re: S70 Strange AC/Heat Unit
The part 9171600 is just the front face. What is broken is all the stuff behind it. Looks like someone got angry and hit the unit on the left side and broke the knob and the stuff behind or the cable seized and they try to force it and broke it.
