Yesterday sprayed it all down with WD40 penetrator. Did the passenger side today.

Used the official Volvo tool 9995497, a breaker bar, click-type torque wrench, drill, and adjustable wrench for the tool's bolt on top.

Went pretty well, breaker bar was a peach, bolts slid ...

Did the PNP after the classic orange arrow/ row shifter annoyance every month became no start. What helped me push it off was the excellent "850 OBDII" app for Android. Allows you to read and clear codes from all the computers, like the tranny.

I did not remove the nuts for the connector housing ...
