Re: wheel bearing damage

Very interesting! Thanks for that bit of knowledge. Sorry to hear it came at such an expense.

Re: Leaking Water/Antifreeze-Coolant Level Low

Check the transmission fluid to see if it's migrating there via an internal radiator failure. Also check the engine oil level to see if it's rising and getting foamy.

Re: 2001 C70 AC

My 03 V70 did that when it was a.) slightly low on charge, and b.) the cooling fan wasn't clicking on as it should (bad fan control module).

Re: timing issue, camshaft pully removed

There is a special tool that secures the opposite ends of the cams in the proper location. Then the sprockets are installed with the indexing marks lined up. I'm not sure, but there may be variations of the tool depending on which engine you have. http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view;_ylt=A0PD...

Re: Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1

Even the upstream O2 sensor may be more easily reached from beneath the car. At least my non-turbo appeared to be.

Re: Check Engine Light after Camshaft seal replacement

If you get marks where they belong, the VVT will take care of itself. I never could get the reasoning behind all the "rotate forward -rotate backward" stuff.

I had mine one tooth off and it ran perfectly fine. But it did throw a cam timing fault code. The interesting thing was that the CEL didn't light up immediately upon the first start up. It appeared upon the second startup. So I cleared the code, and again, no CEL at initial start up, but it appeared...

Re: Check Engine Light after Camshaft seal replacement

The cams may be in perfect relation to each other, but if the crank is off by one tooth the error code will be be that of a cam out of time - it won't say crankshaft out of time.
