Re: 96 850 GLT Flame trap hoses

Erick

That's the line you recommended to re-route using 5/16th vacuum line, right?

The elbow in my IM is actually stuffed into the IM nipple , then connects to a larger piece of tubing that goes behind the IM.

It has happened on my 99 Civic.

Re: 96 850 GLT Flame trap hoses

I'm working in the flame trap area right now. The small hose you're talking about, is that the one that goes to the left side of the intake manifold? I've a split in the elbow. I was just going to re-route a new vaccum line from the elbow to the flame trap housing rather than remove the manifold. (I...

Re: 1996 850 GLT Need to find vacuum leak >> found

I tossed mine few years ago. Interesting thing is that Volvo stopped putting them in s,v70.All they did in 850(s) was plugging themselves on & on. You could probably attach it to any available nipple on a vacuum tree but firstly the nipple on a flame trap must be plugged, otherwise ...

Great, thanks!

I would have wasted a lot of time trying to figure which connection it was on the tree.

Probably toss the flame trap while I'm done there.

No, it's independent part.

So, If i am going to reroute the vacuum line, one end goes from the connection on the left side of the manifold; the other to a connection near the flame trap.

Re: 1996 850 GLT Need to find vacuum leak >> found

Thanks, I was thinking of doing that see as it was probably going to be a PITA to get the elbow into the larger tubing. But I was going to look for the other connection on the vacuum tree. The other connection is located by down by the flame trap, or is the vacuum tree considered part of the flame t...

I took a look at the elbow from the left side of the engine and could see a crack where the elbow fits into the manifold. The other end of the elbow is connected to a larger piece of tubing. Is this the correct replacement? http://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-vacuum-hose-connector-90-degree-hose-1...

1996 850 GLT Need to find vacuum leak >> found

My 96 850 GLT has given em its first check engine engine light in the 4.5 years I've owned it. (Started at 168k, now at 221k) The code is a P0172. So i'll be looking for a vacuum leak. I'll try the cigar method. My question is can I just attach a hose to one the the extra connection on the vacuum tr...

Re: 1998 S70, which REAR Brake Pad that does NOT squeal?

I have had really good results with Akebono pads, anti squeal shims from FCP and a liberal amount of Permatex Extreme brake part lubricant: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018PSASU/ref=wms_ohs_product_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is what I installed on my old 850 in the rear and I never had squealing ...
