Re: 96 850 Turbo Starts but runs rough then dies. Backfires.

You're in good shape with all the comments IMHO. A peripheral comment - ... can't imagine a dirty MAF would cause this many problems. ... If the MAF isn't visibly oily or grungy, cleaning it will almost never make any difference, not even a small one. Basically not worth spending for the cleaner. Do...

Re: s70 98 new timing belt sitting on the edge of the pulley and sprockets

Very similar to my experience: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=73552 I ran the Gates belt for about 5k miles because we put the car in service somewhere else for a several months, then when we got it back here I put in a Continental belt. It tracks straight with the Conti be...

Re: 1995 850 Turbo acting n/a and running rich

... If the computer is telling it to dump too much fuel possibilities (in order of probablility) are: Temp sensor in thermostat housing , front o2 sensor, MAF. This is a good little nugget to pay attention to. Check its connector too, they are known to be a problem. Don't unplug the MAF with the ca...

Re: 1995 850 Turbo acting n/a and running rich

You checked the induction hoses (good call) but did you also go over the vacuum lines carefully? Would have to be a big leak, maybe the fat brake booster hose? Check carefully for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold while you are at it. You can't check fuel pressure with obd2, if that's what you...

OK, for the record then: Still have never come across an axle nut or lug nut that my cheap HF corded impact did not break loose. Knock on wood.

Re: Rear swaybar 850 turbo.

I would be surprised to see a T5 without a rear sway bar, did you look? Anyway it is entirely worth it, easy upgrade, try to grab one from any P80 FWD so equipped at the junk yard. If you can, get a thicker bar e.g. from a T5. However Volvo mixed and matched the bars a lot, you can't be sure what is...
