Re: Ethanol in Fuel = GOOD for Performance?! FF#29

I know some folks that simply install injectors that are ~30% larger then fill with E85... you won't get the performance benefits without tuning but that would allow you a simple way to get a reasonably close AFR.

Swap back to stock injectors for regular gas. Just a thought

Re: Ethanol in Fuel = GOOD for Performance?! FF#29

Without an injector change you may not have enough fuel flow to run the engine properly... I'd have to run the numbers to know for sure but if they were large enough the main gain would be better power primarily. Fuel economy would require some testing to determine if cost savings would actually add...

Re: Defeating the torque limit request on the Volvo 850 Turb

You could use an Arduino, Pi, or PIC to comm back and forth to the ECU or you could simply reduce limiter in the ECU for first/second without fully removing it... I'm a bit slammed now but I can do some further research on how the physical switch interrupt could be implemented if there is interest. ...

Re: Ethanol in Fuel = GOOD for Performance?! FF#29

We can tune for E85 as a sole conversion but for now I'd say hang on just a bit until our remote loader is complete. So far the cables are done and we're finishing the software interface so we're moving along :) Cloning of ECU's can be done but for now all cloning must be done here in our offices. T...

We'll have a write up with vids on this shortly from another member I'm working with. I think that will help explain it better than anything :)

Re: ARD tune o2 delete question

Correct, you can rear 02 delete as you like.

As for running a tune on the car without the parts installed, you can do it but the boost will likely be slightly less than target until the upgraded parts are installed :)

Re: Ethanol in Fuel = GOOD for Performance?! FF#29

I saw that thread as well, very cool stuff! As for your setup the main changes would be larger injectors and timing remapping to take advantage of the added octane. As for fuel economy, you'll see a bit less but not as bad as you might think if you are calculating dollars per mile. You could use reg...

Re: Defeating the torque limit request on the Volvo 850 Turb

It could be done outside of tuning but the time and effort involved would be more than it's worth IMO.

I did get an interested party on the offer so keep your eyes peeled for a write up in the next few weeks :)
