ELM adapter $12-15 from Amazon plugs into the ODB2 port under the dash. Torque Pro app for Android is $5, works with the adapter via Bluetooth and shows the readiness status of the emissions monitors as well as many other car sensor outputs. It is no Dice/Vida, but I have had mine plugged in for a f...

Re: Shift Flare on a 2004 S60

Hi G&K, Thank you! I thought the coolant line ATF exchange pushed all the old fluid out of the system, but you point out something critical. If the ATF sump is not drained first, the coolant line ATF change adds ATF via the ATF dipstick hole into the ATF sump where old and new ATF would mix. I think...

Re: Shift Flare on a 2004 S60

I still like the iPD ATF drain kit that allows you to run 12 quarts through the ATF cooling line. The ATF came out nice and red after 11 or so quarts. I did this at 60K and it is certainly time for me again (99K). Just have to pickup the ATF. https://www.ipdusa.com/products/4808/107945-automatic-tra...

Re: Greetings!! Also needing help with rough idle/limp mode!

It seems odd that the door problem started when the battery was replaced - it might be a computer module issue with the Drivers Door Module (DDM). But it could be that they slammed the door closed harder than you do. :) It seems likely that the other issues are caused by the battery being drained du...

Re: OBDII ---> VIDA

I take back my comment about taping the PCV hose as a temporary fix. First, I suspect the hose will fall apart if moved. Secondly, you will need new clamps, and if getting those, find the replacement hose which can be installed without the removal of much more than the engine covers. Take a look at ...

I don't think this was mice!

In your first picture showing the fuel line's damage, there is a large bolt bent towards the front of the car, the two lines broken, and some missing rust. Mice are strong, but ... My guess is that you are not looking for a mouse, but the car hit something underneath while backing up. It seems odd t...

Re: P2 cloth A-pillar cover retrofit with plastic

I had wanted to access my A-pillars and this is very clear. Thanks for your research and pictures.

Also I was uncertain about interior color codes and I need some door trim pins, and I can now check to see if mine is oak or beige.

Re: OBDII ---> VIDA

PCV hose Good luck with the PCV tube replacement. I wonder if a temporary solution might be to use some high temperature tape and wrap the hose at the split. I don't think it is under very high pressure. On the other hand, I do like the idea of replacing it given its age. Wiring harness misaligned I...

Re: OBDII ---> VIDA

I would not hose down the area under the engine covers. I don't like the idea of getting a lot of water there with the wiring, and so close to the timing belt. Mop up what oil you can then use electrical cleaners and wipe again. When the PCV system is clogged, pressure increases in parts of the engi...
