Most rattles from the tailgate are related to the inside cover, just under the window. There are "kits" to fix that particular problem. You tightened the latch too much, and now the handle will not engage when you try to open the tailgate. Climb into the car from the rear seat and lift up the cover ...

I read it before and it sounded like you are one tooth off.
I read it again and it still sounds like you are one tooth off.

Re: Tailgate Problem on 850 Turbo Wagon

Just purchased a '94 850 Turbo wagon w/54K miles. Runs okay but the hatch or the tailgate will not close tight unless your hands are placed just so- just below the license plate when closing it w/full force; otherwise, simply closing it allows so much play it rattles while driving. I've had the lat...

The front O2 sensor becomes a problem if the car is fed a diet of high sulphur low octane gasoline. If the engine is treated nicely and the O2 sensor throws an error, then it is usually a vacuum line with a leak.

Nice car, BTW.

Re: AC compressor cycles; '93 850; only seeing one port

Oh I totally disagree with you there. They may fail prematurely with their rusty evaporators but when they're working properly the A/C is as cold as any car I've been in and that's a whole bunch of cars When it's nice up here in July, I normally roll down the windows just after I start the car to h...

Re: AC compressor cycles; '93 850; only seeing one port

I do not believe a charge is needed, but do now know why the compressor would cycle, and why there is only one port. There is no high pressure port on 850/70s. And the compressor will cycle a lot if you just start the car and let it idle. The 6nm cap is the dust cover for the low pressure port, whe...

It is a well known joke. There are 2 different part numbers for the wheels, one for left and one for right side. The wheels are in fact the same! Volvo has no directional wheels that I am aware of, at least in the USA.

When mine did that on my 1995, I found out that the aluminum strip on the back side of the bumper had bent. As you know, the rear most clip is held on by a torx screw, and this clip is no longer grabbing the rail. The other clips should not be easily moved, front to back. You could try to bend the r...

For the 850s, the return fuel line can be disconnected at the fuel rail. The 98 70s have the return line routed under the injector rail and then to the front of the manifold, requiring the rail to be removed from the manifold. Whith what I know now, I could probably do it in 5-6 hours instead of the...
