Re: 2007 S80 3.2 w/110k - High Temp Warning, Screeching and (owner) Screaming

I have the A/C compressor aside and got the old tensioner and idler pulleys off. I've loosened the two screws connecting the power steering pulley to the water pump. Reading the instructions on the LR2 site I see reference to folks pulling the power steering pump away and sliding the belt between t...

Re: 2007 S80 3.2 w/110k - High Temp Warning, Screeching and (owner) Screaming

I just checked the new clutch pulley (for my 2010 S80 3.2) and the Force is 1 to 2 ft*lbs

Note this is for a new clutch pulley

If you want to compression test the engine you can remove the fuse for the fuel pump module

Its by the passenger’s feet

Good luck with the repair

Thanks again Paul. Unsure how smooth/free it should be, seems to have a bit of drag to it, it doesn't freewheel like a bicycle freewheel that's for sure. Should it (i.e., no belt on and I spin it, it keeps spinning on it's own)? For now, I just got the pulleys and belt from FCP (in 2 days with free...

Ok, correction. I CAN spin that pulley below the A/C compressor (CCW as viewed from driver's fender) when using the belt thrown around it. Can't spin it CW. I think my confusion was that this isn't really called an alternator pulley, it's the crankshaft pulley? https://parts.volvocars.ca/p/Volvo_20...

Hi, raquette and pgill: I am attempting to replace the diaphragm. Thank you both for your information. You mentioned the use of a heat gun. The Thermostat is a know failure point in the 3.2 and they typically fail around 100,000 miles or 10 years When the thermostat fails there is some evidence that the higher engine temperature can lead to coil pack failures. I recommend that you replace your thermostat some time soon. If you do let us...

I have a 2010 version of the same car with over 350,000 Kms on it. Personally, I think this engine/car is better than the previous P2 models (I have owned 17 Volvos in the past from a 122S to a 05' V70R). For my 2010 S80 3.2 the dryer is a desiccant bag inside the condenser. It comes in a sealed aluminium Mylar bag and it only has a 1 year shelf life. I do recommend that you change the mount under the torque mount at the same time if it has collapased

The video's help

The check engine light is on what code is stored?

The check engine light didn't flash (the engine management system doesn't think that you have a misfire)

If you shift into manual mode will the engine go to Redline in first gear (it doesn't need to be on the hill)

Re: Tips & Advice for V70 T6 purchase?

Thanks for all the replies. :) I didn't know the US market didn't get the V70 T6? I was thinking of getting a T6 model year 08-> with about 100 000 miles / 160 000 km on the clock. I'd like an estate with some power under the hood but I don't want to pay a fortune for maintenance ( because then I c...

Re: Maf sensor wiring diagram

P0103 is a tough one The first thing I would do in your situation is to do a hard reset on the ECU by removing the battery cables and letting everything get to Zero Volts (give it some time to drain the capacitors) Then reconnect and verify the P0103 is still there Assuming it is The MAF air flow se...

Search for Dowty Washer.

That is what I used on my Son's VW.

One thing to check: remove the washer and tighten the bolt by hand, does it fully seat? Its possible that the hole is not threaded all the way thru or that the threads got damaged and that is why you can't compress the washer.

Good Luck
